Autumn newsletter

I can’t believe the summer’s over!  And we’re back to normal this week. Well, that is as normal as Jack will allow us to be!

Thursday 8th September 7.30-9pm at

Friends Meeting House, Bean Street, off Anlaby Road, HU3 2PR.

We’re looking forward to a great term. There’s a couple of dates to note, so put them in your diary please. The AGM is also scheduled to take place in the next few weeks – details of the actual date will be confirmed shortly – watch this space!

We have again been asked to join in the Amnesty gig at the Adelphi on the evening of Wednesday 19th October. Later in the term we have Chechelele visiting us again for a workshop and evening performance. That is Saturday 3rd December, afternoon and evening. We are trying a new venue. Trinity Methodist on Newland Avenue has a dome for us to raise the roof.

We did just that at the Crossings Hostel during the summer and there was a great attendance. It has been suggested that we go out to other places during the half term and holidays if enough people are available. Can you think where you would like to go? We joined with United Voices at Open doors last term as well as singing at Cottingham Hall and Sunny Bank Residential Homes. Christmas is just around the corner. Ideas please. I know Jack has plans for a performance in the New Year……. We have a committee meeting this Tuesday so all suggestions gratefully received.

I know this Thursday clashes with the Freedom Chorus first rehearsal for the 2017 launch and there are a few people involved so it will be great to see as many people as possible. Our numbers coming regularly have been amazing. Let’s raise that roof!
