Welcome to the Hull Community Voices website
We are an inclusive singing group based in Hull and we welcome anyone whatever their age, experience or ability.
We provide opportunities for people to explore harmony singing through singing a variety of material from around the world and to develop their own voice.
All songs are learned by ear - there is no need to read music.
We meet every Thursday during term time from 7.30pm to 9.00 pm at Friends Meeting House, Bean Street HU3 2PR (just off Anlaby Road near the Lloyds Late night Pharmacy).
This year we have some great workshops lined up for you. Come and join us for a stimulating evening of joy.
The aim of HCV is to encourage people of all ages and abilities to find or extend their singing voices whilst celebrating the different vocal sounds and harmonies from around the world. The group is ideal for people who feel they can't sing, as HCV offers a supportive space for people to gain confidence with their voice.

Although we have no session at the Friends Meeting House, anyone who wants to sing is invited to join in with a session run by the Open Doors Choir. Princes Avenue Methodist Church – 7pm start.
Meet The Team:
I first visited Hull Community Voices with the Riverside choir and it was a very enjoyable and welcoming experience. When my choir closed, I decided to join Hull Community Voices and I’ve been attending ever since. I love the variety of songs we sing and the friends I have made.
Although I have had aspects of music in my life since my childhood, I had always considered choir singing to be formal, scary and not for me. It wasn’t until about 14 years ago that I really discovered the joys of singing in close harmony. I joined Hull Community Voices to experience more and have continued to enjoy exploring my voice ever since.
I always wanted to be able to sing but never felt confident enough in my ability to join a choir.
I was also looking for an activity to help me manage my stress levels. Hull Community Voices provided a friendly and supportive environment that has helped me become a more confident singer. The group members all have really different backgrounds and experiences but we create beautiful harmonies and sing a great range of songs from all over the world.
I have always loved singing remembering all my songs learnt at school. I have never done any singing for years until joining Hull Community Voices 8 years ago which has helped me to find my voice again. I now sing with confidence and enjoy the lovely songs and sounds we make singing with such a lovely welcoming group.
